Florida 4-Hour Learners Permit Course (START)

This drug and alcohol course must be completed before a person can apply for a Florida Class E Learners Permit. It is not required for drivers who have been licensed in another state or in certain countries.

If you are under the age of 18, you will be given the opportunity to take your Class E driver license test (road rules and road signs) online after you complete the START course. There is a separate charge to take the online driver license test (not included in the START course fees).
