Driver smiling about online drug and alcohol course

"My mom was thrilled when I told her she didn't have to waste time and gas by driving me to a traffic school. I took my learner permit course online with Driver License School.com!"

What do Florida teens need to do to get a learner permit?

  1. You must be at least 15 years of age to apply for your Florida learner permit.
  2. You must complete a Florida DHSMV-approved drug and alcohol course. You can take this course before your 15th birthday and it does not have to be completed in a classroom. Our online drug and alcohol class fulfills the State of Florida learner permit requirement for the TLSAE course (§322.095, Florida Statutes), so you can be confident that the State will accept your completion certificate if you take OUR course. You can sign up here for the drug and alcohol course.
  3. You must study the Florida Driver Handbook.
  4. You must pass the driver license test. This is also sometimes called a learner permit test or Florida driver license test. The driver license test consists of questions on Florida road rules (20 questions) and road signs (20 questions) that are taken from the Florida drivers handbook.
  5. You must show proof of identity at the Florida driver license office and pass other tests, including vision and driving skills. For complete Florida learner permit requirement information, click here. Be sure to review the requirements on our how to get a Florida drivers license page.

Once you receive your learner permit, you must observe all Florida traffic laws. Don't just take driving for granted, as thousands of newly licensed teens die in traffic crashes every year. Pay close attention to your drug and alcohol course, which will explain in detail why this happens and show you how you can prevent it from happening to you or your friends!
